The Move of God

Are you expectant for the move of God? No matter what season you are walking through, God calls His children to wait expectantly, to trust in Him for the blueprints and purpose of your life. Get to Him, even if the cost is more than you want to be willing to offer. Isaiah 40:31 says,
“but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”

If you are struggling to run your race with God, first, let me say that you aren’t alone. We have all been there, and some of us are currently there. But, let me say this: God calls us to Him first, then, as we put on His armor, we can go out into the world and fulfill our purpose. If you aren’t filling yourself with Him, then you are filling yourself with the world. Think about it. No, seriously. Think about it. Take a minute to reflect on what you’ve been seeking in this season. Is it God? Or is it social media? Is it unhealthy friendships? An unhealthy relationship with food? Inappropriate content on your phone? Partying? Anxiety? Depression? Whatever it is, God is bigger than it and wants you to surrender it to Him.
If you are filling yourself with whatever worldly thing is your vice, then you aren’t leaving room for God, because you are already full from the food of the world. The thing is, the world is designed to entice, to trap, and to enchant. It casts a spell on us, constantly making us yearn for more of what will fill us for moments rather than a lifetime. Why do you think you keep running back to your vice? It’s because we live in a society that is designed to offer temporary solutions to eternal problems. The holes and gaps inside of you will not be filled by under-eating or over-exercising. They won’t be filled by seeking attention from that boy or that girl on Tinder. At the end of the day, you’ll end up feeling emptier and more depleted after you choose the behavior that you know you shouldn’t. There is a quote that I hurt once that said something along the lines of
“don’t seek to be relevant. Don’t seek to be liked. Seek to be undeniable, to be compassionate. Seek integrity, humility. And above all, seek light.”
Isn’t that so good?! It can be hard to trust that the move of God is real when you feel far from Him. That’s when it becomes important to get back to Him. He never said you had to walk through your struggles and addictions alone. He promises to fully be there, every step of the way. Let Him fill the holes and areas where you just can’t seem to get it right. Luke 1:45 says,
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Believe enough in God to believe in yourself. Get in his presence and ask what move you should make next to glorify your purpose on Earth. Get right with God before you get right with people. He already knows every battle and difficult decision that you are facing. So, repent and ask for forgiveness. Then be grateful and wait expectantly for the move of God!
Authentically,
Ali
